Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is breast enlargement seen in men. While this is normal during adolescence, it should not continue after puberty. Sometimes, there may be physiological gynecomastia that does not regress spontaneously, or it can be seen due to drugs, tumoral events, some diseases and weight gain. For this reason, patients should be evaluated well before the operation, a good anamnesis should be taken and imaging methods should be used. Gynecomastia is a condition that bothers young men, especially during adolescence. In advanced cases, it can even lead to social isolation.

Depending on the condition of the breast, the operation can be performed only with liposuction, and in some cases, it may be necessary to remove the breast tissue with an incision made from the nipple. The operation is performed under general anesthesia. It usually takes 1-2 hours. After the operation, you will stay in the hospital for one night. A corset should be worn for 3 weeks after the operation.
