Liposuction

It is the process of removing fat from certain parts of the body with the help of cannulas and vacuum. Liposuction is not a weight loss method. It is a contour correction operation. Liposuction results are not successful in overweight patients. If the person is close to his ideal weight and there is storage in certain areas, the results are generally satisfactory. Especially the oils taken in shaping operations can be given to the required areas. The most applied areas are the hips, legs and abdomen, but it can also be applied to the arms and jowl area. If there is sagging on the skin, it must be surgically removed.

Although it is generally performed under general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia can also be applied if it is only to be worked under the navel. A solution to reduce bleeding is given to the area where the fat is to be removed and it is waited for a while. Then the adipose tissue is removed with the appropriate cannula and vacuum machine. This process can also be supported by vaser or laser systems. It is not recommended to take a large amount of oil at one time. The duration of the operation varies according to the area where the fat will be removed. A corset should be used for 3-4 weeks after the operation. Some swelling and bruising after the operation is normal. After three weeks, supportive devices or massage can be applied to reduce edema. Since small cannulas are used in general, the scars formed are very small.
